Ball Wall: Interactive Ball Wall for Museums

An interactive ball wall where every throw can change the scene.

Children playing with balls in front of a large interactive projection wall.

Overview

Ball Wall turns a physical throw into a digital response. Visitors aim balls at a large projected scene, then watch targets, characters and effects react to the impact. The action is easy to see from across the room, inviting nearby visitors to watch and join the activity.

Four demonstrated experiences give the same wall different personalities: an underwater cleanup, a busy toy town, a mechanical workshop and a colorful garden. For museums and family entertainment centers, the digital ball wall brings movement and shared play into a large visual setting.

The Visitor Experience

  1. Pick up a ball and look for an active target or area in the scene.
  2. Aim and throw toward the wall.
  3. Watch the scene respond to the impact.
  4. Try another target, work toward the game’s objective or add to the shared scene.

What Visitors Discover

Visitors experiment with aim, timing and cause and effect. Reef Rescue introduces an ocean-cleanup theme, Chain Reaction makes linked actions visible, and Living Paint Garden turns impacts into a creative contribution. The emphasis changes with the game rather than relying on one repeated target challenge.

Who It’s For and Where It Fits

Ball Wall suits active areas in children’s museums, family entertainment centers and family discovery centers. Place it where throwing and watching can happen comfortably, away from quiet reading or seated drawing activities. The play-area layout should suit the intended visitors and the selected balls.

Exhibit Configurations and Customization

The preview shows a large projection wall facing a contained ball-play area. Projection size, enclosure design, ball storage and the active throw zone form one installation plan. The game selection and any proposed visual adaptations should be listed in the agreed software scope.

Space and Installation Requirements

  • Provide a clear throwing area with controlled ball containment and a separate circulation route for spectators.
  • Keep the projection surface free of direct sunlight and coordinate ambient light with image brightness.
  • Allow suitable mounting and unobstructed coverage for projection and sensing equipment. Power, cabling, service access, networking and ventilation must follow the final equipment schedule.

What’s Included

Our Ball Wall experience brings together interactive games, a projection wall and ball-impact sensing. We define the software selection and equipment package with you for the proposed installation. Your project proposal sets out the supplied components, installation and training scope, and any consumables or ongoing services. Every exhibit includes a one-year standard warranty.

Application Examples

  • Children’s museums: add a visible, physical cause-and-effect activity.
  • Family entertainment centers: provide an active digital game zone with varied themes.
  • Science centers: use Chain Reaction and Reef Rescue alongside relevant gallery subjects.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do visitors use to play?

Visitors throw physical balls toward targets and interactive areas on the projected wall.

Which games are shown?

The supplied preview demonstrates Reef Rescue, Toy Town Traffic Rescue, Chain Reaction and Living Paint Garden. The project quote should specify the licensed selection.

Does it need a completely dark room?

Projection visibility depends on the projector, wall surface and ambient light. A lighting assessment is more useful than assuming that every installation needs blackout conditions.

Is a ball pit essential?

The preview uses a contained ball-play area. The required containment and visitor layout should be assessed for the selected installation rather than inferred from the image.
